Position Summary

Procurement Specialist is responsible for complex procurement actions including vendor sourcing, solicitation, proposal evaluation, delivery, closeout, and all associated aspects of the procurement process; contract oversight to ensure all applicable contract requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare purchase orders/purchasing based on approved purchase request.
  • Oversee and track the purchasing of materials and services, ensuring all project needs and timelines are met.
  • Audit the receiving/receipt controls of materials.
  • Audit material inventories.
  • Audit purchase card reconciliation monthly.
  • Draft Approval Requests (AR) to the customer for procurement procedures.
  • Gains and maintains expertise in customer, procurement and material control procedures and requirements.
  • Effectively communicate with requestors and vendors of any change in material or expected delivery times.
  • Identify cost saving opportunities through supplier negotiations and market analysis.
  • Review all incoming mail on a daily basis and distribute to each department.
  • Monitor inventory of all items including supplies from other departments.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, circumference, interest, and volume
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy

Preference will be given to a qualified Eastern Shoshone tribal member, then other qualified federally recognized Indian tribal members and then other qualified candidates.

  • Applicants must submit a copy of Tribal Enrollment card or CIB for Indian Preference.

Veterans who meet the minimum qualifications and provide documentation of an honorable discharge (DD214) from any branch of military service are entitled to receive preference points during the interview process.

Any offer of employment is contingent dependent on drug test, reference check and background check. Refusal to take the test or testing positive will render the applicant ineligible for employment with Warm Valley Health Care for 60 days.
