Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Procurement Sourcing Strategist to advance its procurement maturity. You will craft and execute category plans for indirect spend, lead multi-faceted RFPs, and negotiate terms with strategic suppliers.

The role spans HR, Marketing, and Professional Services with a focus on cost, service, and risk optimization. The ideal candidate can review contracts and statements of work, identify unfavorable terms, and engage Legal as needed to drive commercial outcomes.

Qualifications

Position: Procurement Sourcing Strategist

Address: Columbus, OH 43235 - 4 days a week onsite, 1 remote

Pay Rate: $95,000 - $105,000

Must Haves:

• 4+ years of strategic sourcing, procurement, category management, or supplier-management experience
• Strong category preference towards corporate procurement with a focus on Marketing, HR, and Professional Services
• Experience with procure-to-pay platforms - Oracle Fusion preferred
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute category strategies
• Need prior experience where they firsthand developed a category to be healthier and more effective
• Experience leading complex RFPs and other competitive sourcing events
• Experience using spend data, supplier information, market intelligence, and industry trends to make sourcing recommendations
• Strong commercial negotiation and contract-optimization experience
• Working knowledge of MSAs, SOWs, contract redlines, and common commercial terms.
• Ability to conduct an initial contract review and negotiate business terms before involving Legal
• Proven ability to identify cost savings, service improvements, supplier risks, and contract risks

Nice to Have:

• Experience sourcing marketing agencies, contingent labor, consulting, benefits, talent-related services, or other business services.
• Experience establishing category-management practices in a developing procurement organization.
• Oracle Fusion procurement or procure-to-pay experience.

A Brief Overview

A major client of Insight Global is seeking a strategic and commercially minded Procurement Sourcing Strategist to help elevate the maturity and impact of its procurement organization. This individual will move beyond traditional, transactional buying and serve as a consultative partner to business stakeholders across corporate services categories.

The Procurement Sourcing Strategist will create and execute category strategies, support complex RFPs, negotiate commercial and contractual terms, manage strategic suppliers, and identify cost, service, and risk-optimization opportunities. The role will primarily support multiple indirect spend categories such as HR, Marketing, Professional Services, Finance and Banking, and Legal Services. Technology procurement experience is welcome but is not the central focus of the position.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced sourcing professional who enjoys building strategies where limited procurement infrastructure currently exists. The ideal candidate can independently review contracts and statements of work, identify unfavorable terms, conduct initial negotiations, and engage Legal as a strategic partner rather than relying on Legal to lead all commercial discussions.
