Job summary

Howmet Aerospace Inc. is seeking a Procurement Sourcing Specialist to support multiple plants in the Segment (including outside North America). The role involves contract development, project management, and process improvement to meet Business Unit goals.

The position can be based in Whitehall, MI or La Porte, IN and is an on-site, full-time role requiring up to 25% travel. Strong experience in procurement and ERP systems is preferred.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of experience in Procurement or Contract Development/Management.
• Minimum one year experience with Oracle or similar ERP/EBMS.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% of time.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and negotiate service agreements and purchase orders to reflect scope, deliverables, pricing and terms.
• Lead procurement-related projects including CAPEX, cost reduction, and supplier onboarding.
• Monitor contracts for performance and compliance, and implement risk mitigation actions.
• Provide cross-site support and back-up execution for RFQs, PO issuance, and invoicing reconciliation.

Responsibilities

The Procurement Sourcing Specialist will report to the Segment Procurement Lead of Structural Castings and IGT, North America and provide procurement and project management support multiple plants in the Segment (including plants outside of North America) to ensure Business Unit goals are met through the execution of procurement strategies. Procurement strategies include but are not limited to the security of supply, cost savings, optimization of processes, and supplier risk mitigations.

Position can be based out of Whitehall, MI or La Porte, IN

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:

• Contract Development and Management
  • Review plant requirements and statements of work (SOWs) to identify potential suppliers and contractors.
  • Create, review, and negotiate service agreements and purchase orders to ensure all contract language accurately reflects the scope, requirements, deliverables, performance metrics, pricing, schedule and terms and conditions appropriately.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Finance, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with company contract procedures prior to issuance.
  • Monitor contract performance to ensure requirements are being met and provide risk mitigation actions as necessary.
• Project Management
  • Lead and support procurement related projects including the sourcing of goods, services, outplant and CAPEX, cost reduction initiatives, supplier growth strategies and supplier onboarding.
  • Coordinate with cross functional team stakeholders to define project timeliness, manage deliverables and provide action plans to eliminate project delay.
• Process Control and Compliance
  • Identify inefficiencies with procurement processes across the Segment and implement solutions to reduce process waste, improve cost effectiveness, and maintain a high level of compliance with procurement and financial procedures.
• Multi-Site Support
  • Provide direct support to Segment plants to resolve procurement operational challenges and to ensure a consistent and high level of execution.
  • At times, provide backup executional support of plants including, but not limited to the issuance of RFQs, placement of purchase orders, reconciliation of invoices, and other as needed administrative tasks.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• Three (3) years of experience working in Procurement or Contract Development/Management within procurement with a Bachelor's degree from accredited institution. OR in lieu of degree, five (5) years' experience.
• Minimum of one (1) year experience in ORACLE, or similar type Enterprise Business Systems.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
• Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a manufacturing setting highly desired
• Prior experience managing capital expenditures (CAPEX) is a plus
• Experience working with Microsoft Office with strong emphasis on Excel and Word.
• Willingness to frequently visit plant’s shop floor for better understanding of operations
• Customer-oriented personality.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform metrics and reports on various data collections.
