Job summary

WhiteWater Midstream is seeking a Procurement Project Lead to oversee procurement for major pipeline and facility projects in Houston. The role emphasizes leadership, supplier negotiations, contract management, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure timely, cost-effective acquisitions.

The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation, organizational, and analytical skills, with experience in oil and gas or construction procurement practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience in procurement and supply chain management, preferably in the pipeline and/or construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes and best practices.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Analytical mindset with ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
  • Proficiency in using procurement software; NetSuite is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead procurement efforts for major pipeline and facility projects, ensuring timely, cost-effective acquisition.
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, contractors, and vendors.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers, ensuring compliance with terms.
  • Monitor project budgets and costs, identifying opportunities for savings and improvements.
  • Identify and mitigate procurement risks through proactive management strategies.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and finance to align procurement with goals.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and industry trends.
  • Prepare regular reports on procurement activities and risks.
