Job summary

Ingalls Shipbuilding, part of HII, is seeking a procurement specialist to source, plan, and manage material movements for production and inventory. You will analyze specs, schedule materials, and coordinate with engineering and production teams to meet delivery targets.

The role requires experience in front-end procurement, price analysis, supplier negotiations, and record-keeping to ensure cost effectiveness and quality across the supply chain.

Qualifications

• High School diploma and 10 years of experience.
• Bachelor's degree and 6 years of experience.
• Master's degree and 4 years of experience.
• PhD and 2 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• S sources, purchases, plans, and schedules the movement of raw materials, packaging materials, parts, components, services and finished goods through production and inventory.
• Identifies material requirements from engineering and production specs and schedules.
• Purchases, plans, coordinates material movement across manufacturing and inventory cycles.
• Reviews proposals, negotiates prices, selects suppliers, analyzes trends, and maintains procurement records.
