Lee Kum Kee USA is seeking a Procurement Manager to lead sourcing and commercial management of key raw materials, including commodities, ingredients, oils, sweeteners, and proteins. You will work with Operations, R&D, Quality, and Finance to ensure cost, quality, safety, and timely delivery.

This on-site role in City of Industry, CA requires developing sourcing strategies, managing day-to-day purchasing with co-packers, tracking market trends, and leading supplier negotiations to optimize total

Qualificações

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field.
  • 3+ years procurement or sourcing experience, preferably in food manufacturing or CPG.
  • Exposure to sourcing commodities, ingredients, oils, sweeteners, or proteins.
  • Experience with co-packers and co-manufacturers.
  • Demonstrated ability to support supplier negotiations and cost improvement initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of should-cost or cost breakdown analysis.
  • Proficient in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, basic modeling); ERP experience (SAP) preferred.
  • Clear communicator, comfortable working cross-functionally.

Responsabilidades

  • Sourcing & Category Support: Execute sourcing strategies for raw materials in partnership with Procurement Leadership.
  • Cost Analysis: Build should-cost models and apply TCO analysis.
  • Market Monitoring: Track market trends, indices, and risks; summarize insights for management.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with Operations, Planning, R&D, Quality, Finance, and Engineering.
  • Negotiations & Supplier Development: Lead supplier negotiations and support dual sourcing initiatives.
  • Track supplier scorecards and delivery performance; follow up on corrective actions.

POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for a Procurement Manager to support the sourcing and commercial management of key food manufacturing inputs, including commodities, ingredients, oils, sweeteners, and proteins. this person will work closely with Operations, R&D, Quality, and Finance to help ensure materials and external manufacturing services meet cost, quality, safety, and delivery requirements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Sourcing & Category Support
    • Execute sourcing strategies for raw materials, including commodities, ingredients, oils, sweeteners, and proteins, in partnership with Procurement Leadership.
    • Support the development of category strategies aligned with cost, quality, service, and risk objectives.
    • Manage day-to-day purchasing activity for assigned categories and co-manufacturing/co-packing partners, escalating key decisions as appropriate.

Cost Analysis

  • Build and maintain should-cost models by breaking down supplier cost drivers (raw materials, yields, labor, energy, freight, overhead, and margin).
  • Apply total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis to supplier selection and co-packer evaluations.
  • Use data-driven analysis to question pricing, identify cost-saving opportunities, and prepare supporting materials for negotiations.

Market Monitoring

  • Track and report on market trends affecting commodities, ingredients, oils, sweeteners, and proteins.
  • Monitor commodity indices, supply/demand trends, inflationary pressures, and geopolitical or weather-related risks.
  • Summarize market insights and recommend sourcing, contract, and pricing approaches for management review.
  • Support supplier and co-packer selection, RFQ/RFP processes, contracting, and performance reviews.
  • Participate in commercial negotiations covering price models, index-based pricing, capacity commitments, and SLAs, and lead negotiations on smaller or lower-risk agreements.
  • Assist with supplier development efforts and dual-sourcing initiatives to reduce supply risk.
  • Track supplier scorecards, delivery performance, and quality or service issues, and follow through on corrective actions.

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Collaborate with Operations, Planning, R&D, Quality, Finance, and Engineering to support production, innovation, and growth.
  • Support new product development and line extensions through early ingredient and co-packer engagement.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS and EXPERIENCES

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.

  • Experience with, or strong interest in, working with co-packers and co-manufacturers.
  • Demonstrated ability to support supplier negotiations and cost improvement initiatives.

  • Proficient in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, and basic modeling); ERP experience required (SAP preferred).
