Procurement Managers, Parts are members of the Direct Procurement Team dedicated to supporting teammates managing multiple markets. Their goal is to ensure our front-line teammates are supplied with the necessary goods and services while achieving departmental key performance indicators. The Procurement Manager, Parts, supports the team in identifying and aligning supplier relationships, establishing favorable terms, negotiating industry-leading discounts, and providing overall support to teammates in the markets they serve. Success in this role requires being proactive, service-focused, relationship-oriented, skilled in negotiation, detail-oriented, organized, and a team player.

Essential Job Duties

  1. Manage a team responsible for over $200M in spend across the assigned operational territory.
  2. Provide leadership, strategic direction, and career development coaching to eight (8) teammates.
  3. Support teammates in procurement functions such as spend analysis, requirements gathering, sourcing, supplier selection, pricing, contract negotiations, and supplier performance management.
  4. Identify opportunities to shift volumes to suppliers that improve Caliber’s bottom line while meeting departmental metrics.
  5. Collaborate with teammates to update market leadership on activities related to parts margin, discount negotiations, buy/sell of parts suppliers, and potential supplier opportunities.
  6. Evaluate strategies to ensure the Supply Chain is efficient and cost-effective.
  7. Develop and present methods for cost avoidance and business growth improvement.
  8. Maintain and strengthen relationships with partners to negotiate competitive discounts and low returns.
  9. Support senior leaders and stakeholders through performance metric analysis to drive revenue.
  10. Provide regular performance reports on negotiations, cost avoidance, and parts margin.
  11. Partner with various departments to meet team goals while delivering excellent customer service.
  12. Research opportunities to streamline processes and maximize productivity.
  13. Act as an escalation point for approximately 500-600 centers supported by Parts Specialists.
  14. Collaborate on process development and improvement initiatives.
  15. Provide training and documentation to support and expand the use of Supply Chain tools.
  16. Seek professional and personal development opportunities, including training and external resources.

Skills/Requirements:

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with experience in mentoring, coaching, and feedback.
  • Negotiation skills to build relationships and avoid increased costs.
  • Ability to navigate complex situations and communicate effectively while upholding Caliber’s Core Values.
  • Excellent time management, organizational planning, and project management skills.
  • Familiarity with collision industry platforms such as CCC1, Mitchell, and OPS is preferred but not required.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strategic thinking capability.
  • Automotive industry experience is preferred but not required.
