Position Summary/Job Purpose
Procurement leader in developing and implementing sourcing strategies to deliver maximum value through standardization of the procurement source‑to‑pay process. Works in partnership with senior business stakeholders in the Non‑PO/Indirect Procurement space to provide leadership and direction on strategic sourcing decisions from a total cost of ownership perspective while ensuring our company’s targets are delivered.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Provide strategic direction and leadership; identify global sourcing opportunities to maximize operational efficiencies and develop solutions to attain optimal service levels.
- Develop and implement category sourcing strategies based on a solid understanding of services under responsibility, including market and industry research.
- Manage continuous improvement KPIs for all procurement activities related to strategically procuring or negotiating indirect services among sub‑categories, delivering financial and supplier performance.
- Develop, manage, and analyze performance improvements while ensuring procurement target updates are tracked and reported on a weekly/monthly basis.
- Develop procurement plans for projects and operations, ensure resources are allocated within forecasted budget, and prioritize workload based on urgency.
- Oversee execution of procurement plans, ensuring compliance with anti‑trust and Sarbanes‑Oxley requirements.
- Evaluate customer requirements, establish service level agreements, and manage customer expectations through regular progress updates and review meetings.
- Review, analyze, and present status and progress updates to the Executive Committee to ensure projects are on target and within budget.
- Drive initiatives to identify value‑creation opportunities and support the organization’s cost‑reduction objectives while maintaining customer satisfaction.
- Develop and maintain supplier relationship management (SRM) to create and sustain a competitive advantage globally.
- Review and approve sourcing recommendations and agreements for legal correctness, price, and quality effectiveness.
- Review pricing components for various goods and services to evaluate and negotiate costs.
- Collaborate with internal clients to identify appropriate vendors and procure estimates and bids for ongoing engagements and project work.
- Negotiate, execute, and manage complex multi‑year contracts and agreements with a spend under management of $1B+ for the Non‑PO space.
- Collaborate with accounting and legal to achieve optimal execution of agreements and multi‑year contracts.
- Contribute to ongoing review, improvement, and enhancement of processes and tools under the source‑to‑pay end‑to‑end process.
- Evaluate and analyze potential risks to the project portfolio from a supply‑chain perspective; develop and execute risk‑mitigation plans.
- Perform other duties as required; employees may be assigned other job‑related duties by their supervisor or management.
Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field.
- 10+ years of experience emphasizing procurement of indirect services or products, with a background in progressively responsible positions such as category management, sourcing, or contracting.
- Previous managerial experience in procurement or supply‑chain functions.
- Experience with sourcing, contracting, and P2P suites such as Oracle, Coupa, SAP Ariba, etc preferred.
- Broad industry knowledge of the categories under management.
- Ability to manage the financial aspects of the assigned procurement function, including identifying expense reduction opportunities.
- Ability to manage headcount and budgets within the area.
- Knowledge of customer‑service principles and techniques, quality service standards, and customer‑satisfaction evaluation.
- Knowledge of policies and practices for contracting and procurement, ensuring 100% compliance.
- Ability to manage a staff positively and productively, motivating, developing, and coaching employees.
- Ability to use the disciplinary process to improve performance or terminate employment.
Financial Responsibilities
- Oversee a multi‑million‑dollar category spend, with non‑PO spend exceeding $1B annually.
