The Weitz Company is hiring a Procurement Manager II to join our Power Generation team. You will oversee procurement for construction sites, ensuring materials arrive on time to meet contract obligations while coordinating with project teams, suppliers, and manufacturers.

You will negotiate terms, manage POs, and drive supplier performance with a focus on timely delivery and cost effectiveness, while leading a team and fostering strong relationships with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in procurement in a construction-related industry.
• Lean principles experience is a plus.
• Industry-related degree required; equivalent education/experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery methods with suppliers.

Job Description

The Weitz Company is hiring a Procurement Manager II to join our Power Generation team. The Procurement Manager II will be responsible for managing the procurement process for construction project sites. In this role you will ensure materials arrive on time to meet contract obligations while coordinating with project teams, suppliers, and manufacturers.

What You’ll Do

• Negotiate pricing, contract terms, and delivery methods with suppliers and manufacturers
• Manage purchase orders while evaluating project schedule and availability of materials to ensure timely delivery of materials
• Evaluate and manage supplier performance to ensure contract and quality obligations are met; source and identify new suppliers if necessary
• Participate in supplier database development, including creating supplier work statements and proposals, setting negotiation parameters, and establishing supplier strategy
• Resolve escalated payment and/or material discrepancies
• Oversee and review technical documentation, specifications, bid preparation, quote solicitation, submittals, and requests for quote (RFQ) packages
• Collaborate with project team, logistics, and procurement team members to review and identify areas for improvement
• Foster positive relationships with both internal and external parties
• Lead, develop, and mentor team members

Experience

10+ years of experience in a procurement function in a construction related industry

Lean principles experience is a plus

Industry related degree is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
