Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required inOperations, Engineering, Business, Procurement or related field.
• 5+ years of procurement, purchasing, or supplier management experience including owning purchasing processes.
• Experience supporting multi-site manufacturing, life sciences, biotech, pharma, or related regulated environments.
• Strong understanding of ERP/MRP systems, inventory management, purchasing controls, and supplier negotiations.
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally, influence stakeholders, and lead process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier selection support, pricing reviews, purchasing coordination, and supplier performance tracking.
• Manage supplier KPIs, identify performance gaps, and drive corrective actions and continuous improvements.
• Collaborate with Quality and Regulatory teams to ensure suppliers meet GMP, ISO, and regulatory requirements.
• Provide purchasing visibility and input to inventory planning and stock-level decisions.

Position Summary

Made Scientific is seeking a Procurement Manager to own day‑to‑day procurement execution across its Newark and Princeton sites. This role is responsible for leading procurement activities, inventory support, supplier performance, and purchasing process discipline, helping ensure reliable support of manufacturing, R&D, and customer commitments.

The ideal candidate will bring hands‑on procurement experience, strong analytical skills, and the confidence to take ownership of purchasing processes, resolve issues, and drive practical improvements with internal stakeholders and suppliers across a multi‑site operating environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Own procurement execution for raw materials, consumables, services, and capital equipment supporting both sites.
• Lead supplier selection support, pricing reviews, purchasing coordination, and supplier performance tracking, with a focus on quality, cost, reliability, and compliance.
• Manage supplier KPIs, identify performance gaps, and drive corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with Quality and Regulatory teams to ensure suppliers meet applicable GMP, ISO, and regulatory requirements.

Procurement Support for Inventory & Logistics

• Partner with supply chain owners by providing purchasing visibility, supplier lead‑time information, and procurement inputs to support inventory planning and stock‑level decisions.
• Support inbound and inter‑site logistics through supplier coordination, purchase order follow‑up, delivery expediting, and escalation of supplier‑related delays.
• Support supply chain teams with supplier‑related root cause analysis, procurement data, and corrective actions that improve inventory accuracy and cycle‑counting outcomes.

Leadership & Cross‑Functional Collaboration

• Provide day‑to‑day direction, coordination, and guidance to procurement team members as needed.
• Serve as a cross‑functional partner to Site Leadership, Manufacturing, Quality, and Development.
• Lead procurement readiness for new product introductions, scale‑up activities, and site expansion initiatives.
• Lead process improvements using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies to improve service, reduce cost, and increase scalability.
• Use ERP/MRP systems and data analytics to establish purchasing visibility, improve decision‑making, and drive accountability.
• Lead system enhancements, data governance, and process standardization across Newark and Princeton operations.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Engineering, Business, Procurement, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supplier management, including experience owning purchasing processes and coordinating supplier activities.
• Proven experience supporting multi‑site manufacturing, life sciences, biotech, pharma, or related regulated environments.
• Strong understanding of ERP/MRP systems, inventory management, purchasing controls, and supplier negotiations.
• Ability to collaborate cross‑functionally, influence stakeholders at multiple organizational levels, and lead practical process improvements.

Preferred

• Experience in GMP‑regulated or highly controlled manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with sourcing strategies for scientific, laboratory, or biologics‑related materials.
• Professional certification in procurement, sourcing, operations, or related disciplines.
• Lean, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement certification
