Job description

ZB Designs, maker of Wigglitz On-site in Ogden, UT | Reports to Head of Operations | Full-time, salaried Compensation: $70,000-$95,000

ZB Designs is the creative studio behind Wigglitz, the wiggly, fidgety collectible that won 2026 Collectable Toy of the Year and now ships into national retail and DTC.

Our buying grows every quarter. Labels, paper goods, corrugated displays, master cartons, tubes, pouches, headers, and everything else our fulfillment, design, and manufacturing teams need to get orders out the door. Right now that work is spread across people who already have full‑time jobs. We're hiring a Procurement Manager to own it.

Half of this job is negotiation. The person who wins here is part buyer, part closer, constantly quoting the market and pushing suppliers on price and terms. The other half is reach: building direct relationships with manufacturers in China and other Asian markets so we always have options. Every dollar you take out of unit cost, freight, or payment terms is cash back in the business.

What You'll Own
  • Negotiation on price, MOQs, payment terms, and lead times. You push for better as our volume grows, and you time and size orders so we aren't sitting on inventory we don't need yet.
  • International sourcing across China and other Asian manufacturing markets. Find, qualify, negotiate with, and manage factories, and know when you're talking to the actual manufacturer versus a trading company.
  • RFQs end to end: supplier discovery, samples, negotiation, production approval, freight, customs, delivery.
  • Live competitive quotes and qualified second sources in every key category, so we never learn our alternatives after a supplier fails.
  • Landed cost, tracked and driven down. Unit price, tooling, freight, duties, tariffs, MOQs, lead time, and carrying cost, not just the number on the quote.
  • A vendor base that keeps growing. You should always know who else could make what we buy and whether they can beat our current supplier.
  • Every PO from issuance to delivery, plus reorder triggers and days‑of‑cover, with early flags on long‑lead goods and retail launches.
  • Machinery and raw material buying as this role matures. We're still drawing that line and want your help drawing it.
Need to have:
  • Proven negotiation results. You have moved price, MOQs, or terms and can tell us the before and after.
  • Hands‑on international sourcing, ideally China, Vietnam, Taiwan, South Korea, Thailand, or Malaysia. You have found factories yourself, negotiated terms, managed samples and production remotely, and gotten goods delivered. Comfortable with FOB, EXW, DDP, freight forwarders, customs, and tariffs.
  • 4+ years in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain, ideally consumer products, packaging, or print, buying labels, folding cartons, corrugated, retail displays, CDUs, and master cartons.
  • Supplier development. You have prospected, qualified, and onboarded new vendors, not just managed a list someone else built.
  • Urgency. When a launch needs materials sourced now, you move without waiting for perfect information.
  • Organized and self‑directed. Solid cost modeling in spreadsheets and follow‑through that keeps quotes, POs, and dates from slipping.
Nice to have:

retail‑ready display programs for national accounts, machinery or raw material buying, 3PL experience.

Who Thrives Here

A builder, not a caretaker. Some categories just need consistent execution. Others are single‑sourced, half‑negotiated, or wide open, and much of this runs in spreadsheets today. You'll inherit a real list of opportunities and be expected to solve them.

We run on four values: Fierce Ownership, Competitive Excellence, Decisive Action, and Mental Toughness. You make the call, own the outcome, and keep moving when a vendor misses a date.

Who Should Not Apply
  • You are uncomfortable pushing a supplier on price, quality, or a missed ship date.
  • Your experience is mostly issuing POs to a vendor base someone else built and negotiated.
  • You compare suppliers on unit price without accounting for freight, duties, MOQs, lead time, and total landed cost.
  • You need a documented process handed to you before you can start.
  • You want remote or hybrid. This role is on‑site in Ogden.

We make the best‑designed, highest‑quality toys on the planet.
