Job summary

TPI Global Solutions seeks an experienced AMI 2.0 Sourcing & Procurement Specialist to support sourcing and procurement for a major AMI program in the utility industry. You will develop sourcing strategies, identify suppliers, evaluate vendor proposals, and support contracting activities.

Ideal candidates will have experience in utility metering, strategic sourcing, procurement, supplier management, RFI/RFP processes, and contracting, with familiarity in smart meter technologies and grid

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support sourcing activities for the AMI 2.0 program, including developing sourcing strategies and identifying qualified suppliers.
  • Identify and evaluate materials, equipment, technologies, and vendors required to support AMI program objectives.
  • Develop and support RFI and RFP processes, including requirements gathering, vendor communication, proposal analysis, and evaluation.
  • Analyze supplier proposals, pricing, capabilities, qualifications, and sourcing results to support business decisions.
  • Support contracting activities, including contract development, negotiations, documentation, and coordination with procurement and legal teams.
  • Develop and maintain strong supplier and vendor relationships throughout the sourcing and contracting lifecycle.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders across procurement, supply chain, engineering, IT, operations, finance, and the AMI project team.
  • Support the development and execution of sourcing and category strategies aligned with program requirements and business objectives.
  • Support sourcing initiatives involving data analytics, interoperability, meter data, communication technologies, and data/communication protocols.
  • Monitor supplier performance, identify potential risks, and support resolution of supplier-related issues.
  • Conduct market and supplier research to understand the AMI, smart metering, and grid modernization supply base.
  • Prepare sourcing analyses, presentations, recommendations, and reports for project and business stakeholders.
  • Ensure sourcing activities follow established procurement policies, processes, and governance requirements.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced AMI 2.0 Sourcing & Procurement Specialist to support sourcing and procurement activities for a major Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) 2.0 program within the utility industry. The ideal candidate will have experience in utility metering, strategic sourcing, procurement, supplier management, RFI/RFP processes, and contracting.

This role will work closely with internal stakeholders and the broader AMI project team to develop sourcing strategies, identify qualified suppliers, evaluate vendor proposals, and support contracting activities. Experience with smart meter technologies, grid modernization, interoperability, communication protocols, and data analytics is highly desirable.

  • Experience with supplier/vendor management and relationship management.
  • Experience supporting contracting and procurement activities.
  • Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to analyze supplier, sourcing, pricing, and business data and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with AMI 2.0 programs or large-scale smart meter deployments.
  • Knowledge of smart meter technologies, AMI components, MDMS, interoperability, and communication protocols.
  • Understanding of the AMI/grid modernization vendor and technology ecosystem.
  • Experience with utility data analytics, reporting, or business intelligence.
  • Experience working with technologies related to meter data, communications networks, and utility data platforms.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field.
