Job summary

Mitsubishi Power Aero in Glastonbury, CT is seeking a senior procurement leader to manage a team of buyers for FT8 and FT4000 gas turbine programs, consolidating vendors and driving competitive pricing.

You will negotiate contracts, analyze spend, oversee supplier performance, and collaborate with Programs, Operations, Quality, Legal, and Finance to meet cost, quality, and delivery targets. Travel up to 20% domestically and internationally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business.
• 5–8 years of procurement, sourcing, supply chain, or purchasing experience.
• 5 years of managerial experience required.
• Mitsubishi Power Aero product experience highly preferred, but not required; experience with other aeroderivative or heavy-frame gas turbine technology acceptable.

Job Summary

• Requires broad management and leadership of buyers of engine parts for FT8 and FT4000 gas turbine programs and power plant equipment
• Identify/develop/consolidate vendors for competitive pricing.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, terms, and service-level agreements with suppliers.
• Conduct spend analysis and identify strategic sourcing opportunities.
• Resolve supplier performance issues and implement corrective actions.
• Manage procurement budgets and identify cost-reduction opportunities.
• Responsible for all aspects of supplier relationships, including delivery and quality performance, cost, and inventory management
• Oversee purchase order execution and product delivery, ensuring placement of on-time purchase orders, mitigating terminations, and executing cost-reduction goals.
• Own delivery execution to meet production schedule.
• Collaborate with Programs and Operations groups (Materials, Production Planning, Logistics, Warehouse), Quality, Engineering, Legal, and Finance.
• Lead cross-functional teams in support of cost, quality, and delivery metrics.
• Address and solve problems.
• Build efficient working relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
• Ensure team compliance with Procurement Manual and standard work.
