Job Purpose
The Procurement Manager is responsible for overseeing the sourcing, purchasing, and vendor management functions of the organization. This role ensures the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials, supplies, equipment, and services while maintaining quality standards and supporting operational goals. The Procurement Manager develops supplier relationships, negotiates contracts, monitors inventory needs, and drives continuous improvement in purchasing processes.
Duties and Responsibilities

Procurement & Purchasing
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies that support company objectives.
- Source and procure materials, supplies, equipment, and services at competitive prices.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with vendors and suppliers.
- Issue purchase orders and monitor order fulfillment.
- Ensure timely delivery of materials to support business operations.
- Evaluate supplier performance and maintain strong vendor relationships.
- Identify and qualify new suppliers when needed.
- Collaborate with operations and inventory teams to forecast purchasing needs.
- Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages and excess inventory.
- Review inventory reports and purchasing trends.
- Assist in developing inventory control procedures.
- Coordinate with warehouse and operations teams to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Maintain vendor records, contracts, and pricing agreements.
- Conduct periodic vendor reviews and performance evaluations.
- Resolve supplier issues related to quality, delivery, or pricing.
- Ensure suppliers comply with company standards and requirements
- Monitor purchasing budgets and spending.
- Analyze purchasing data and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Prepare reports related to purchasing activities, vendor performance, and cost trends.
- Support annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain, Operations, Agriculture, or related field preferred.
- 3-5 years of purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or operations experience preferred.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with ERP systems, inventory software, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in an office, warehouse, and operational environment.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to travel to vendor locations, company facilities, and industry events as needed.
