Schneider Electric is seeking a Procurement League Leader to serve as strategic procurement partner for the Process Automation business. You will connect people, projects, suppliers, and procurement expertise to drive competitiveness and profitable growth.

You will lead procurement across product development, offer lifecycle management, supplier strategy, and cross-functional initiatives while mentoring a high-performing procurement community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or related field required.
• Minimum of 8 years of procurement or strategic sourcing experience within a multinational environment.
• Experience supporting project procurement, NPI, or product development initiatives.
• Strong experience with electronics procurement, including semiconductors, PCBAs, and related supply chains.
• Fluent English; additional languages are an advantage.

Position Summary

The Procurement League Leader serves as the strategic procurement partner for the Process Automation business, connecting people, projects, suppliers, and procurement expertise to drive competitiveness, innovation, resilience, and profitable growth. This role provides procurement leadership across product development, offer lifecycle management, supplier strategy, and cross-functional business initiatives while fostering a high-performing procurement community.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Business Partner

• Act as the primary procurement representative and point of contact for the assigned Process Automation League.
• Translate business strategies, product roadmaps, technology trends, and regional priorities into actionable procurement strategies.
• Align sourcing approaches with business objectives related to growth, profitability, innovation, sustainability, and lifecycle management.
• Identify risks and opportunities early and provide data-driven recommendations to stakeholders.
• Ensure procurement engagement during the earliest phases of product development and strategic initiatives.

Procurement Leadership & Community Development

• Lead and coordinate Offer Procurement Leaders and Business Buyers across projects, product lines, and regions.
• Drive consistency in procurement execution, best-practice sharing, standardization, and collaboration across the portfolio.
• Mentor and develop procurement professionals while partnering with Procurement Chapter Leaders to strengthen organizational capabilities.
• Foster accountability, innovation, continuous improvement, and effective leadership without direct authority.

Product Development & Project Procurement

• Lead procurement activities for complex global new product development and offer lifecycle projects.
• Influence product architecture and sourcing strategies through Make‑or‑Buy decisions and supplier engagement.
• Serve as the link between engineering teams and supplier markets, aligning technical requirements with market capabilities.
• Drive supplier selection, qualification, and onboarding, with a strong focus on semiconductors, PCBAs, electronic components, embedded platforms, and related technologies.
• Lead commercial negotiations involving cost, contracts, quality, capacity, lead times, intellectual property, and supply continuity.
• Support industrialization, manufacturing transfers, and production ramp‑ups across global operations.

Cost, Value & Competitiveness

• Lead design‑to‑cost, value engineering, sourcing optimization, and supplier productivity initiatives.
• Promote supplier and technology standardization to reduce complexity and improve scale efficiencies.
• Ensure procurement objectives are integrated into project business cases and design decisions.
• Deliver measurable improvements in product cost, profitability, quality, time‑to‑market, and supply continuity.

Risk Management & Supplier Innovation

• Identify and mitigate supplier, technology, capacity, obsolescence, compliance, geopolitical, and business continuity risks.
• Strengthen supply chain resilience through dual sourcing, localization, lifecycle management, and continuity planning.
• Develop strategic supplier partnerships that contribute innovation, technology insights, and market intelligence.
• Advance sustainability, responsible sourcing, digitalization, and supplier transformation initiatives.

Core Competencies

• Strong business acumen with the ability to connect procurement decisions to growth, profitability, and customer value.
• Deep understanding of electronics procurement, including semiconductors, PCBAs, electronic components, and global electronics supply chains.

• Proven project execution capabilities from concept through industrialization and production ramp‑up.
• Strong supplier market knowledge, commercial acumen, and negotiation expertise.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field required; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of procurement or strategic sourcing experience within a multinational environment.
• Demonstrated experience supporting project procurement, new product introduction (NPI), or product development initiatives.
• Strong experience with electronics procurement, including semiconductors, PCBAs, electronic components, and associated supply chains.
• Proven ability to lead complex, multi‑site and multi‑country initiatives across diverse cultures and functions.
• Strong negotiation, contract management, analytical, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
• Prior project management experience is highly preferred.
• Fluent English required; additional languages are an advantage.

For this U.S. based position, the expected pay range is USD 142,400 - USD 213,600 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives. The compensation range for this full‑time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our pay ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the pay range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
