The University of Texas at Austin, Recreation Sports, is seeking a Senior Purchasing Coordinator to lead departmental purchasing on the UT Austin main campus. You will supervise staff, coordinate purchase orders, and ensure compliance with federal and state guidelines while serving as a liaison between the department, the University Purchasing Office, and vendors.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, 3+ years of purchasing experience, and strong MS Office skills.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; three years of relevant purchasing experience; one year of direct purchasing experience.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook; ability to process high volumes of purchasing documents and maintain records.
• Experience liaising between departments and vendors, with excellent verbal and written communication.

Aufgaben

• Serve as lead departmental buyer and procurement resource for RecSports; liaise with the University Purchasing Office and vendors to determine scope, outline requirements, and anticipate needs.
• Oversee processing of a high volume of purchasing and accounting documents; maintain knowledge of university policies and departmental accounts.
• Prepare and maintain backup documentation; reconcile departmental charges and post transactions; supervise procurement card reconciliations and deposits as needed.
• Manage department assets including annual inventory in collaboration with other teams.
• Assist with supervising accounting staff; develop manuals; train and mentor staff; model professional behavior.
• Perform other tasks as assigned in the Business Services area.
