RR Donnelley & Sons offers a full-time summer Procurement Intern role in the Chicagoland area. The internship provides hands-on exposure to end-to-end procurement, including strategic sourcing, supplier operations, and cross-functional collaboration with Legal, Operations, and Finance.

You will assist with day-to-day procurement activities, supplier communications, and data/contract tracking within enterprise systems, while pursuing a procurement or supply chain degree.

• Support strategic sourcing projects, including research, documentation, and coordination for RFPs or vendor evaluations.
• Help track, organize, and maintain procurement data, contracts, and supplier records in enterprise systems.
• Support supplier relationship management (SRM) and build trust with internal business units.
• Collaborate with Category Managers, Procurement Directors, and cross-functional teams on special projects.
• Participate in planning sessions, process improvements, and CSR initiatives.
• Prepare presentations, summaries, and status updates for procurement leadership.
• Other responsibilities as needed to support business requirements.

Position Type & Timing

This is a full-time internship opportunity during the summer before Junior Year of college. Candidates currently enrolled in a procurement or supply chain undergraduate degree program are highly preferred.

Overview

The Procurement Intern position is a versatile supportive role within the Global Procurement organization. This opportunity provides exposure to the end-to-end procurement lifecycle, giving the candidate hands‑on experience in strategic sourcing, supplier operations, process optimization, and cross‑functional team collaboration.

Additional Information

The salary range for this role at the noted RRD location is $20.00 - $25.00 / hour. Starting pay decisions are determined based on multiple factors including but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, skills, experience, certifications, proficiency, performance, shift, location, and other business needs. Typically, roles follow step progressions to a target rate or set increments over time. Depending on the role, in addition to the hourly rate of pay, the total compensation package may also include overtime, shift differential, call‑in, and/or stand‑by pay.
