Position Summary

GapVax Manufacturing is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented college student for a full-time summer internship within our Procurement Department. The Procurement Intern – MRO Agent will support purchasing and inventory activities related to Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) materials used throughout the manufacturing facility. This internship provides hands‑on experience in supply chain operations, vendor management, inventory coordination, purchasing systems, and manufacturing support within a fast‑paced industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with sourcing and purchasing MRO supplies, tools, safety products, and maintenance materials
• Create and track purchase orders within the company ERP/purchasing system
• Communicate with suppliers regarding pricing, availability, lead times, and order status
• Help maintain accurate inventory levels for shop and maintenance consumables
• Support cycle counts and inventory audits
• Coordinate deliveries and follow up on late or missing shipments
• Work with maintenance, production, and warehouse teams to identify material needs
• Research cost‑saving opportunities and alternate suppliers
• Maintain organized purchasing records and vendor documentation
• Assist Procurement and Supply Chain personnel with special projects as assigned

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, Industrial Technology, Engineering, or related field
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
