Kautex is offering a 2027 Procurement Internship in Troy, MI. You will perform cost analyses on core purchased parts and learn pricing strategies within a global auto-supply context.

The role involves collaborating with Purchasing, Engineering, and Sales to understand costs tied to quality, part design, and supply chain. Ideal candidates are pursuing a Bachelor’s in Purchasing or related fields, with Excel and SAP familiarity; SharePoint experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s with focus in Purchasing, Business Admin, Supply Chain or Logistics.
• Interest in automotive supply chains and cost analysis is preferred.
• Familiarity with cost, design, and value analysis is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for cost analysis and understanding of main bought-in products.
• Assist Program Purchasing and Commodity Leads with cost aspects of quality, design and supply chain.
• Support cost-conscious solutions with cross-functional teams.
• Write contracts for bought-in products and create Purchase Orders and Scheduling Agreements.
• Drive use of cost estimation tools and develop cost reduction ideas.
• Identify and execute cost optimizations within commodities.
