BARNES AEROSPACE, East Granby OEM, invites applications for a Procurement Intern role supporting the supply chain transformation in Granby, CT. You will be a self-driven student (rising junior or senior) thriving in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities include day-to-day purchasing support for direct materials and services, data analysis and reports, supplier follow-up, RFQs, sourcing, and maintenance of ERP and supplier records; contribute to supplier performance and onboarding processes.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university as a rising junior or senior.
• Preferred majors include Integrated Supply Chain Management, IT, Engineering, Business or Materials Management.
• Familiarity with Excel (advanced) and Power BI is a plus.

Barnes Aerospace, East Granby OEM has an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Intern to play an integral role in our supply chain transformation. The right candidate should be a self-driven and enthusiastic student with junior or senior level status. Core Responsibilities:

• Support the Procurement team with day-to-day purchasing activities for direct material, outside services, and indirect requirements.
• Analyze purchasing data and prepare reports on PO placement, late-to-release activity, supplier on-time delivery, open-order status, spend, PPV, RFQs, and market-index trends.
• Assist Buyers with supplier follow-up, including obtaining order acknowledgments, updated delivery commitments, pricing, lead times, and documentation.
• Support RFQ and sourcing activities by compiling bid packages, comparing supplier quotations, evaluating cost/lead-time tradeoffs, and maintaining sourcing records.
• Help maintain accurate supplier, pricing, lead-time, and PO data within ERP systems and related procurement trackers; identify and correct data-integrity issues.
• Assist with supplier performance reporting, including supplier scorecards, corrective-action follow-up, and preparation for supplier business reviews.
• Support maintenance of the Approved Supplier List (ASL), supplier onboarding documentation, and supplier portal activities in coordination with Quality and other cross-functional teams.
• Support procurement standard work, training materials, work instructions, and the department skills matrix.
• Partner with Planning, Operations, Quality, Engineering, Finance, IT, Legal, and HR on assigned supply-chain initiatives.
• Complete assigned internship projects, analyze findings, recommend improvements, and present results to Procurement leadership.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Possess analytical and technical skills required to understand business practices and recommend proper automation opportunities
• Familiarity with intermediate (V-lookup/Pivot tables) and advanced (What-If, Power Query) Excel functions
• Familiarity with basic Power BI functions and ability to learn Articulate 360 software for standard work training creation
• Must be an innovator and embrace lean enterprise, principles and practices

Education Requirements:

• Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university as a rising junior or senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree preferred in Integrated Supply Chain Management, IT, Engineering, Business or Materials Management
