Job summary

Lockheed Martin Aeronautics in Fort Worth, TX is seeking a Principal Procurement Engineer to lead supplier collaborations across Sourcing, Operations and Design Engineering on aerospace programs.

You will analyze technical data and manufacturing constraints, drive producibility improvements, mentor teams, and guide design changes to balance cost, quality and schedule.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree from an accredited university.
• Experience leading RCCA investigations to solve problems.
• Experience mentoring or leading peers and/or team members.
• Advanced written & verbal communication experience; to lead technical discussions with suppliers, internal teams, and customers.

Responsibilities

Who You Are

Procurement Engineer, Principle

What You Will Be Doing

Coordinates with Sourcing, Operations, Design Engineering, the Supply Base and Industry experts to facilitate the design, production, test and qualification of aerospace and defense products. Analyzes technical data, designs, preliminary specifications, manufacturing limitations, supplier facilities, and parts/equipment availability. Investigates and recommends potential suppliers based on assessments of response to specifications, costs, inspection of facilities, and historical performance. Facilitate technical trade-offs and standardization that may lead to more economical procurement. Recommends design changes to mitigate production issues. Leads teams of Supplier and internal staff in collaboratively solving problems in Producibility, Quality, Inspection, Cost, Mistake-Proofing, Test, Reliability and Affordability.

Basic Qualifications

• Engineering Degree from an accredited university


• Mission Systems experience within the A & D community to include major LM programs


• Experience leading Root Cause Corrective Action investigations to solve problems (RCCA)


• Expereince Mentoring or Leading peers and / or team members


• Advanced written & verbal communication experience; to lead technical discussions with suppliers, internal teams, and customers

Desired Skills

• Mission Systems and/or Avionics system focus


• Experience working closely with suppliers to resolve technical issues and ensure all procured materials meet quality and performance standards


• Experience working independently, as well as within a team structure


• Experience effectively communicating with senior leaders to include program, company, subcontractors, and customers

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $158700.00 - $294700.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
