Qualifications

The role involves preparing technical specifications, reviewing design and equipment changes, resolving procurement-related issues, maintaining accurate parts data, and supporting equipment qualification activities. Qualified candidates will have a background in engineering, experience working with technical documentation and regulated environments, and strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. This full-time position is located in Richland, WA.

Pay rate: $58.8 - $73.39

Responsibilities
  • Develop, review, revise, and maintain Operations, Administrative, Maintenance, and other station procedures to ensure technical accuracy, usability, and compliance.
  • Interpret complex technical information, drawings, manuals, specifications, and regulatory requirements and translate them into clear, step-by-step procedures for plant personnel and contractors.
  • Ensure procedures comply with licensing basis documents, technical specifications, regulatory commitments, industry standards, and site requirements.
  • Verify procedural consistency with engineering drawings, vendor manuals, design documents, and applicable federal and state regulations.
  • Evaluate and implement recommendations from Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, and other station organizations.
  • Prepare, process, and implement Procedure Change Notices and other controlled document revisions.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance on procedure-related issues and resolve review comments from stakeholders.
  • Review design changes and modifications to determine procedural impacts and incorporate required updates.
  • Develop and support testing methodologies to verify compliance with operational, technical, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist engineering and operations teams in determining proper system operation, testing methods, and equipment requirements.
  • Incorporate operating experience, industry lessons learned, event reports, and corrective action recommendations into procedures.
  • Administer and implement corrective actions, action items, and continuous improvement initiatives through the Corrective Action Program (CAP).
  • Support planned refueling outages, maintenance activities, and forced outage recovery efforts.
  • Serve as a Qualified Procedure Reviewer and participate in station review and approval processes.
  • Represent the department during document reviews, procedure validations, and cross-functional meetings.
  • Coordinate with internal customers and stakeholders to ensure the accuracy, quality, and timely delivery of procedural products.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to administrative and document control processes.
  • Support Emergency Response Organization (ERO) activities by maintaining qualifications, participating in drills, and responding during emergency events.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university and at least 8 years of engineering experience; OR
  • High school diploma/GED with a Professional Engineer (PE) license obtained through accredited examination and at least 8 years of engineering experience.
  • Experience developing, revising, and maintaining technical procedures, work instructions, or controlled documents in a regulated industrial environment.
  • Knowledge of engineering principles, technical specifications, licensing basis documents, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Ability to analyze complex technical information and convert it into clear, concise, and user-friendly procedures.
  • Experience reviewing engineering drawings, vendor manuals, design documentation, and technical data for procedural impacts.
  • Familiarity with corrective action programs, root cause evaluations, operating experience reviews, and continuous improvement processes.
  • Understanding of nuclear, power generation, industrial, or other highly regulated environments preferred.
  • Knowledge of ALARA principles, industrial safety practices, environmental requirements, and quality assurance standards.
  • Experience supporting equipment testing, system operation verification, and procedure validation activities.
  • Ability to evaluate replacement equipment, spare parts, procurement specifications, equipment qualification requirements, and technical quality issues.
  • Strong technical writing, document management, organization, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, Regulatory, and Quality organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high standards of accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Must be capable of obtaining and maintaining Emergency Response Organization (ERO) qualifications as required.
