Job summary

X-energy is seeking a Procurement Engineer (Electrical or Control and Safety Valves) to support the procurement team in building a robust supply chain for steam service controls and isolation valves. You will work on identifying equipment and service suppliers and shaping category strategies to meet project goals.

The role requires experience with valve technologies, scopes of work, and quality requirements in a highly regulated environment.

Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering or Science.
  • Typically 5+ years for Level III; 10+ for Level IV; 15+ for Level V in engineering or supply chain.
  • Experience with control and safety valves/relief valves, steam service valves and isolation valves.
  • Experience with developing scopes of work for services and technical/quality requirements for procurement of equipment.
  • Experience in nuclear industry or other highly regulated industry.
  • Basic knowledge about typical power plant components.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop equipment and service suppliers to establish a robust supply chain that supports project goals and supply chain regional localization targets.
  • Develop strategic supply chain plans which deliver valve for the company and its customers.
  • Develop project specific supply chain execution plans to meet the project schedule and cost goals.
  • Prepare category plans, perform category spend and risk analysis; plan and implement negotiation strategies; design and implement category and supplier risk mitigation strategies; plan and implement contract management for contracts within category.
  • Conduct negotiations with suppliers relating to contract costing, schedule, Terms & Conditions, and technical requirements. Negotiate and establish long-term strategic supplier agreements to achieve strategic objectives and generate revenue.
  • Manage equipment and service contracts to ensure on time purchase and delivery to the project schedule.
  • Provide directions on commercial and contracting strategy to the Engineering, Procurement, and other business units.
  • Perform reviews of specifications, equipment datasheets, and Scopes of Work to ensure all technical and quality requirements are specified to facility accurate supplier proposals.
  • Coordinate with the QA department to qualify suppliers, determine correct contract QA requirements, and identify appropriate hold and surveillance activities.
  • Develop close working relationships with suppliers and end customers.
  • Monitor supplier performance to ensure that contract terms and conditions are met or exceeded and performance meets customer expectations.
  • Analyze market conditions, project demands, and competing project to secure the best pricing and available shop reservations.

Salary Range: Level V: $150,000 to $180,000 OR Level III: $80,000 to $133,000

Job Description:

X-energy is looking for an engineer with experience in control and safety/relief valves and isolation valves for steam service control or experience in electrical, switchgear, transformers, VFD's, motors, etc., to support our procurement team’s implementation of the supply chain process. This role is key in identifying and developing equipment and service suppliers to establish a robust supply chain that supports project goals and supply chain regional localization targets.
