Job summary

Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems is seeking a procurement-focused professional to coordinate with sourcing, operations, and design engineering to enable the design, production, testing, and qualification of aerospace and defense products.

The role involves analyzing technical data, assessing manufacturing limitations, supplier facilities, and parts availability, and leading teams to resolve producibility, quality, cost, and reliability challenges.

Qualifications

• Ability to evaluate manufacturing process quality plan.
• Ability to perform defect data trend analysis and make risk-based decisions.
• Ability to perform root cause analysis.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment with suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Sourcing, Operations, Design Engineering, the Supply Base and Industry experts to facilitate design, production, test and qualification of aerospace and defense products.
• Analyze technical data, designs, preliminary specifications, manufacturing limitations, supplier facilities, and parts/equipment availability.
• Investigate and recommend potential suppliers based on assessments of response to specifications, costs, inspection of facilities, and historical performance.
• Facilitate technical trade-offs and standardization for economical procurement.
• Recommend design changes to mitigate production issues.
• Lead teams of Supplier and internal staff to solve problems in Producibility, Quality, Inspection, Cost, Mistake-Proofing, Test, Reliability and Affordability.
