Job summary

Vistra Nuclear Operations Company in Ohio seeks an experienced engineer to lead evaluation and application of generation technologies at operating plants or new developments. You will manage programs to enhance commercial availability and sustainability of new technologies, and support operations with technical analyses.

The role requires a BS in engineering, 8+ years in power plant operations or engineering, and a PE license or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

  • BS or greater in an Engineering discipline.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer or meets additional years of experience requirements.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of regulatory, code and industry issues to resolve Vistra’s interests.
  • Proficient with technical evaluation processes.
  • Proficient in fossil, solar, battery, or nuclear plant technologies.
  • Minimum 8 years experience in power plant operations/engineering or comparable industries.

Job Summary Normal career level cap position within the engineering hierarchy. General analysis and implementation of generation technologies for application to Vistra operations or commercial development. Manage programs and projects to enhance the commercial availability of new technologies and enhancement to existing technologies.

Education, Experience & Skill Requirements
  • BS or greater in an Engineering discipline
  • Licensed Professional Engineer or meets additional years of experience requirements
  • Demonstrates and applies knowledge of current and pending regulatory, code and general industry issues to resolve Vistra’s interests.
  • Proficient with technical evaluation processes.
  • Proficient in fossil, solar, battery, or nuclear plant technologies
  • Minimum 8 years experience in power plant operations / engineering or comparable industries
  • Demonstrates application of fundamental scientific principles
  • Communication –Must be able to effectively communicate with peers, management and/or represent Vistra’s interests to outside agencies
  • Able to execute projects/strategies with some oversight.
  • Demonstrated high performer through consecutive evaluations or work history for external candidates.

  • Individual contributor in field of expertise.
  • Provides technical support on a fleetwide basis
  • Maintain effective working relationships. Be able to explain technical information to ensure work/repairs completed correctly.
