Job summary

Luminant Generation Company LLC is seeking a senior engineering professional to analyze, implement, and scale generation technologies for Vistra operations and development projects. You will plan long-range programs, manage third-party resources, and drive initiatives to improve commercial availability of new technologies and enhancements to existing ones.

The role requires broad experience with fossil, solar, battery, and nuclear plant technologies, strong communication, and the ability to lead

Qualifications

• BS or greater in an Engineering discipline; Civil Eng experience preferred.
• Licensed Professional Engineer or equivalent experience.
• Recognized SME within Vistra; technical resource for peers.
• Knowledge of regulatory, code, and industry issues affecting Vistra.
• Proficient with business/technical evaluation processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for commercial/environmental/reliability/sustainability interests in new tech.
• Serve as SME in areas of value to Vistra and support Operations in plant tech applications.
• Develop and execute engineering strategies and corporate programs.
• Perform complex root cause analysis and provide innovative engineering solutions.
• Mentor and develop other employees in areas of expertise.
• Contribute to economic justification/analysis for projects.

Job Summary

General analysis and implementation of generation technologies for application to Vistra operations or commercial development. Plan and manage long range programs and 3rd party resources to meet Luminant strategic objectives Manage programs and projects to enhance the commercial availability of new technologies and enhancement to existing technologies level of position and pay grade will be determined by education and skills/experience

Key Accountabilities

• Technical support for the development of commercial / environmental / reliability / sustainability interests in new technology applications.
• Subject matter expert in areas of value to Vistra
• Technical support to Operations in the application of technologies at operating plants or plants in development
• Perform complex root cause analysis
• Provide innovative engineering solutions for difficult problems
• May be responsible for developing other employees in areas of expertise
• Contributes to economic justification/analysis for projects
• Actively contributes to development and execution of company engineering strategies for engineering initiatives

Education, Experience & Skill Requirements

• BS or greater in an Engineering discipline. Civil Engineering experience highly preferred.
• Licensed Professional Engineer or meets additional years of experience requirements
• Recognized within Vistra as a SME. Known and used by many as a technical resource.
• Demonstrates and applies knowledge of current and pending regulatory, code and general industry issues to resolve Vistra’s interests.
• Proficient with business/technical evaluation processes.
• Proficient in fossil, solar, battery, or nuclear plant technologies
• Extensive experience in power plant operations / engineering or comparable industries
• Mastery of fundamental scientific principles
• Strong overall business acumen
• Communication –Must be able to effectively communicate with peers, management and/or represent Vistra’s interests to outside agencies
• Organization, Planning and Control –Must be able to plan and execute corporate programs
• Able to execute projects/strategies with minimal oversight.
• Demonstrated high performer through consecutive evaluations or work history for external candidates.

Key Metrics

• Industry contributor in field of expertise to represent Vistra interests and increase knowledge of new technologies
• Provides technical support on a fleetwide basis
• Maintain effective working relationships. Be able to provide technical direction
