Responsibilities
  • Coordinate care for patients with end-stage organ failure during donor organ offers, including matching and acceptance, in collaboration with transplant teams and agencies.
  • Manage donor organ placement for various transplant programs, including heart, lung, liver, kidney, pancreas, and VCA.
  • Serve as the first call for organ offers (DonorNet), making acceptance or decline decisions based on protocols and consultations.
  • Organize all aspects of recipient surgeries, support donor-recipient matching, ensure regulatory compliance, and document processes.
Additional Duties
  • Coordinate clinical screening and matching, including laboratory testing and diagnostics.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, patients, families, and external agencies, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and safety protocols.
  • Provide education about organ allocation and transplantation to healthcare professionals and the public.
Qualifications
  • Associate of Arts or Science (Required); Bachelor’s preferred.
  • 2+ years of critical care, EMT, paramedic, or related experience; experience in OPO or transplant hospital preferred.
  • Emergency Medical Technician (Preferred).
