The Procurement Coordinator supports the purchasing and procurement process by coordinating purchase orders, communicating with suppliers, tracking deliveries, maintaining procurement records, and ensuring goods and services are obtained on time and at competitive prices.
Additional Responsibilities
- Coordinate day-to-day purchasing and procurement activities.
- Prepare, process, and track purchase orders and requisitions.
- Obtain and compare supplier quotations, pricing, and terms.
- Communicate with vendors regarding orders, pricing, delivery schedules, and issues.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment as needed.
- Track shipments and follow up on delayed or incomplete deliveries.
- Maintain accurate supplier, purchase order, invoice, and procurement records.
- Verify invoices against purchase orders and receiving documentation.
- Assist with supplier selection, evaluation, and relationship management.
- Support contract and pricing negotiations as required.
- Ensure purchases comply with company policies, budgets, and approval procedures.
- Work closely with Finance, Operations, Warehouse, and other departments to resolve purchasing issues.
- Prepare procurement reports and provide updates on purchasing activities and supplier performance.
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve procurement processes.
- Assist in managing and updating the Supplier Scorecard System
Basic Qualifications
- Procurement, or a related field preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or a related administrative role.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen due to the nature of the work, compliance with federal contracts, and exposure to ITAR/EAR-regulated technical data.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and purchasing/ERP systems.
- Ability to analyze pricing, quotes, and purchasing data.
- Strong problem-solving and follow-up skills.
