The Procurement Contracts Manager is responsible for reviewing commercial agreements to ensure compliance with company standards and facilitating coordination across multiple departments from contract initiation through execution with a focus on inbound procurement contracts. This role also supports project execution teams and leads contract closeout activities, ensuring the successful implementation of agreements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a high volume of commercial contracts related to the company’s indirect spend (SaaS, Materials and Equipment Suppliers, Travel, Events, Contingent Labor, etc.).
- Review, redline, interpret and negotiate key legal and financial terms of commercial agreements.
- Act as a central resource for multiple departments including Legal, Facilities, Information Technology, Business Technology, R&D, Human Resources, Staffing and Marketing.
- Operate with a high level of autonomy and demonstrate strong understanding of commercial contract law and negotiations, and financial implications.
- Handle day-to-day operations involving complex and time-sensitive agreements.
- Support both contract management and related financial process operations based on business needs.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental and cross-functional processes, guidelines and templates.
- Work directly with procurement and legal teams to shepherd requests for agreements from initiation in Ariba through negotiations, execution and archiving in Ironclad CLM.
- Serve as a liaison to resolve contract-related issues with business partners, procurement, legal and other stakeholders.
- Lead the full contract lifecycle management process
- Maintain strong working knowledge of regulatory and legal issues relevant to commercial contracting.
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams, including Legal, Procurement, Finance, Accounting, and Project Management, to facilitate timely execution of contracts.
Qualifications and Skills
- Paralegal Certificate preferred
- Experience using a CLM (e.g., Ironclad) preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience reviewing, redlining, and managing commercial contracts, preferably in a supply chain, procurement or inbound licensing division
- Experience working in multiple international jurisdictions, familiarity with cross-border agreements
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
- Service-oriented mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Knowledge of Emerging Technologies, Biotechnology, Privacy and IP law is a must
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and proactively manage workload
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines
