Job summary

National Forest Foundation seeks a Contracts and Procurement Associate Specialist to oversee procurement of goods and services for multiple business units. You will support solicitations, lead contracting, and ensure compliance with funding requirements and NFF policies.

The role focuses on identifying risks, developing procurement processes, mentoring staff, and promoting best practices across the organization. Strong collaboration with Marketing, IT, Finance, and other teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certification with 7 years of relevant experience in procurement and contracting.
• JD and 4 years of relevant experience in procurement and contracting (preferred).
• Foundational understanding of federal procurement regulations, contracting principles and guidelines, and compliance frameworks.
• Experience leading, mentoring, or supporting colleagues/direct reports.

Responsibilities

• Develop procurement strategies for purchases; assist in solicitations; conduct vendor due diligence and compliance checks.
• Lead review and negotiation of procurement contracts to mitigate legal, financial, and operational risks.
• Develop and implement policies, standards, and processes to reduce risks.
• Lead, mentor, and support colleagues; train staff on procurement processes and requirements.
