Job summary

Gerdau is seeking a Procurement Change Management & Training Lead in Midlothian, TX to drive successful adoption of procurement initiatives.   • Hands-on SAP Ariba experience, including Supplier Lifecycle and Performance (SLP) or Guided Sourcing.

Responsibilities

  • Lead change management and stakeholder engagement for procurement initiatives.
  • Own training strategy and delivery for procurement initiatives, including materials creation and live/virtual sessions.
  • Oversee onboarding enablement and ongoing capability development for procurement teams.
  • Track adoption metrics and drive targeted retraining as needed.
  • Collaborate with leaders and SMEs to align changes with procurement priorities.

Basic Function

The Procurement Change Management & Training Lead is responsible for enabling the successful adoption of new Procurement initiatives by leading change management, training, onboarding, and sustainment activities. This role ensures that Procurement stakeholders understand upcoming changes, are properly trained, and consistently apply new processes, systems, and policies in daily operations.

Reporting directly to Procurement leadership, this position serves as the central owner for Procurement change enablement, adoption tracking, and continuous capability development.

Scope:

  • Apply to all Procurement initiatives, including systems, tools, process changes, policy updates, and transformation efforts
  • Supports buyers, category managers, analysts, and Procurement leadership across Direct Materials, Indirect/MRO, Capex, and Services
  • Engage stakeholders after project initiation through stabilization and sustainment
  • Operates across multiple concurrent initiatives with varying levels of complexity
  • Acts as a centralized enablement function rather than supporting a single category or project

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Change Management & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Identify impacted stakeholder groups for each Procurement initiative and assess change impacts
  • Develop and execute structured stakeholder engagement and communication plans
  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders on initiative status, expectations, and upcoming changes
  • Partner with project managers and initiative leads to identify readiness risks and mitigation actions
  • Support leaders in driving alignment and reinforcing change adoption

Training & Enablement

  • Own training strategy and execution for Procurement initiatives, including systems, processes, and policies
  • Coordinate development, maintenance, and delivery of training materials such as job aids, guides, presentations, and recorded sessions
  • Ensure all Procurement training content is accurate, aligned with approved processes, and kept up to date
  • Organize and deliver live or virtual training sessions as required
  • Track and report adoption metrics, including training completion, usage indicators, feedback, and issue trends
  • Identify adoption gaps or areas of resistance and coordinate targeted retraining or reinforcement efforts
  • Support post‑implementation stabilization and long‑term sustainment of changes

Onboarding & Continuous Capability Development

  • Own Procurement onboarding enablement and ensure new team members receive consistent, role‑appropriate training
  • Partner with Procurement leaders and subject‑matter experts to identify recurring capability gaps and training needs
  • Support continuous improvement of Procurement enablement frameworks and training approaches
  • Work closely with Procurement leadership, category teams, digital/system owners, and project managers
  • Ensure change and training activities remain aligned with overall Procurement priorities
  • Escalate adoption risks, training gaps, or readiness concerns Procurement leadership as appropriate

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Communications, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Change Management, or a related field
  • 3–6 years of experience supporting change management, training, enablement, transformation, or program support roles
  • At least 3 years of Hands‑on experience with SAP Ariba, including one or more of:
  • Supplier Lifecycle and Performance (SLP)
  • Guided Sourcing
  • Procurement Operations Support
  • Experience supporting system implementations, process changes, or cross‑functional initiatives
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to tailor messaging to different audiences
  • Proven ability to manage multiple initiatives and priorities simultaneously
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Preferred

  • Experience working in Procurement, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related environment
  • Familiarity with change management methodologies (e.g., ADKAR, Prosci, Kotter)
  • Experience tracking adoption metrics and using data to inform training or change decisions
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, SharePoint); familiarity with learning or collaboration platforms is a plus
