Job summary

Henkels & McCoy, Inc. (H&M) is seeking a Procurement Category Analyst to support strategic sourcing across EPC categories including equipment, materials, and services.

You will analyze spend, develop category strategies, and partner with BD, PM, Estimating, and Operations to improve project execution and reduce costs. The role requires 2–5 years in procurement, a bachelor's degree, and strong Excel/reporting skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 2–5 years of procurement, category management, or sourcing experience.
  • Experience supporting utility, energy, infrastructure, or construction projects preferred.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative abilities.
  • Advanced Excel and reporting capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute category strategies for construction services, engineered equipment, electrical materials, transmission and distribution components, structural steel, civil materials, and subcontracted services.
  • Analyze spend data across projects, regions, suppliers, and categories to identify cost-reduction, standardization, and supplier consolidation opportunities.
  • Lead sourcing activities including RFIs, RFQs, RFPs, bid tabulations, commercial evaluations, and supplier recommendations.
  • Perform total cost of ownership and total installed cost analyses.
  • Monitor supplier performance, capacity constraints, lead times, and project-critical delivery risks.
  • Develop category dashboards, savings tracking tools, supplier scorecards, and procurement KPIs.

The Procurement Category Analyst supports strategic sourcing and category management initiatives for construction, engineering, and capital project spend. This role is responsible for analyzing market conditions, supplier performance, project spend, and sourcing opportunities across key EPC categories including engineered equipment, electrical materials, construction services, subcontractors, structural steel, transmission and distribution materials, and major commodities. The analyst partners closely with Business Development, Project Management, Estimating, and Operations teams to develop category strategies that improve project execution, reduce total installed costs, and mitigate supply chain risks.

Responsibilities

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Understanding of EPC project delivery and construction procurement.
  • Knowledge of strategic sourcing and category management.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and reporting capabilities.
  • Knowledge of engineering specifications and bills of material.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Must be organized and able to effectively multitask and pro-actively manage multiple projects concurrently.

Education and/or Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, Business, or related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in procurement, category management, or sourcing.
  • Experience supporting utility, energy, industrial, infrastructure, or construction projects preferred.
