Job summary

Eastern Shipbuilding Group, Inc. is seeking a Buyer to manage procurement of materials and services for OPC, ensuring best value and timely delivery. The role supports supplier relations, contract negotiations, and coordination with internal teams.

Responsibilities include reviewing drawings/specifications, processing orders, and ensuring compliance with government policies. A Bachelor’s degree and 1+ year in purchasing are desired, with a professional, detail-oriented approach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business with focus on supply chain, operations, or logistics.
• Minimum 1 year purchasing/sourcing/manufacturing planning experience preferred.
• Knowledge of government procurement concepts (FAR/DFAR) desired.

Responsibilities

• Procure materials and services per approved requisitions to achieve best value.
• Manage the requisition, quote, and purchase order process.
• Negotiate terms with suppliers and monitor delivery performance.
• Ensure compliance with FAR/DFAR and ITAR as applicable.
• Maintain accurate status of open procurement orders and support cross-functional projects.
