  • Job Title: Procurement Specialist I
  • Location: 550 South Research Place, Central Islip, NY 11722
  • Employment Type: Full Time, Salaried/Exempt
  • Salary Range: $65,000 - $75,000
  • Benefits: Comprehensive package including 401(k), health insurance, HSA, FSA, PTO, holidays, disability insurance, parental leave, employee discounts, and more.
  • Work Hours: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Responsibilities
  1. Procurement Operations: Manage sourcing of raw materials, packaging, capital items, spares, and consumables. Release purchase orders, monitor orders, coordinate with vendors, and manage inventory levels.
  2. Vendor Management: Maintain relationships with suppliers, support vendor qualification, conduct performance reviews, and support improvement initiatives.
  3. Compliance & Documentation: Ensure procurement complies with GMP, GDP, and other regulations. Maintain accurate records and support audits.
  4. Cost Management: Identify cost-saving opportunities, support negotiations on pricing and terms.
  5. Collaboration & Support: Work with production, QA, warehouse, and finance teams to meet procurement needs and address supply disruptions.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
  • Excellent organizational and team skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and scientific software.
  • Minimum 1 year relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Preferred: Experience in SCM procurement, knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations, negotiation skills, and familiarity with inventory management and logistics.

Sitting at a desk or working at a computer for 75% or more of the workday.
