Job summary

Subcritical Systems Inc. in Austin, Texas is seeking a Procurement Associate to organize stores, manage receipts, and own end-to-end procurement processes.

You will maintain accurate records, develop SOPs for receiving and inspecting shipments, and ensure a single source of truth for POs, invoices, and vendor data, supporting scalable manufacturing operations.

Strong written communication and hands-on experience with inventory and ERP systems are valued as the team scales.

Qualifications

• Detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable building process from scratch.
• Experienced in inventory management, scaleup, and automation.
• Strong written communication skills for documentation and cross-functional coordination with engineers, requisitioners, and vendor.
• Comfortable working hands-on with physical inventory as well as digital recordkeeping system.

Responsibilities

• Organize and maintain stores areas using warehouse best practices, including labeling systems and identifying additional storage equipment as needs arise. Integrate digital methods for accounting and usage that generate demand requirements.
• Receive, inspect, and record incoming shipments, maintaining an accurate, up-to-date system of record for all equipment and materials
• Develop and maintain SOPs governing receipt, inspection, and tracking of shipments arriving onsite
• Own end-to-end procurement execution — budget tracking, vendor coordination, order placement, invoicing, and delivery confirmation
• Maintain comprehensive procurement records, including vendor profiles, banking details, and delivery and payment history

Job description

The Procurement Associate role is responsible for the maintenance and organization of procurement records, as well as the establishment and maintenance of the factory’s stores and shipping and receiving. Success in the first 2 months looks like a fully organized, labeled stores area; a reliable, documented receiving and inspection process; a Procurement Portal that is the single source of truth for POs, invoices, and vendor information; and inventory controls ready to support the SSI factory.
