Job summary

Iowa Department of Education is seeking a Program Planner 3 (Procurement & Application Specialist) to join the Bureau of Nutrition and Health Services in Des Moines, IA. You will provide technical assistance, monitoring, and support to operators of USDA Child Nutrition Programs, ensuring compliance and efficient processing of applications.

Responsibilities include statewide monitoring, coordinating program applications, data analysis, and developing procedures.

Qualifications

• Seven years of full-time work experience in the administration or operation/execution of a program.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines with guidance from multiple stakeholders.
• Experience with government regulation implementation; familiarity with USDA programs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform statewide monitoring of organizations in USDA Child Nutrition Programs and draft monitoring reports with corrective action recommendations.
• Coordinate Child and Adult Care Food Program applications; review and approve documents for pre-approval and annual applications.
• Assist with organizational administration of all Child Nutrition Programs.
• Gather and analyze data from spreadsheets, surveys and other sources.
• Develop and update procedures, forms and flow charts.
