Procurement and Demand Planning Specialist

PROCUREMENT & DEMAND PLANNING SPECIALIST

About the Role:

  • Schedule:9AM - 5PM Australian Eastern Standard Time
  • Remote/Work from Home
  • Reports to:General Manager

The Procurement & Demand Planning Specialist ensures efficient purchasing, inventory management, and supplier coordination for raw materials and ingredients. This role involves forecasting demand, negotiating contracts, and optimizing inventory to support business operations. The specialist will collaborate with sourcing, logistics, quality, and sales teams to maintain supply chain continuity and cost-effectiveness.

Key Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, or related field.
  • 5+ years in procurement, demand planning, or supply chain management.
  • Experience in global sourcing, supplier management, and inventory forecasting.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and demand planning tools.
  • Strong data analysis and forecasting skills (Excel, Power BI, or similar).
  • Knowledge of procurement best practices, contract negotiation, and compliance.
  • Strong demand forecasting and risk mitigation skills.
  • Effective supplier negotiation and relationship management.
  • Inventory control, order fulfillment, and lead time optimization.
  • Analytical problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Strong negotiation and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of organic/specialty ingredient sourcing.
  • Awareness of food safety, compliance, and market trends.
Job Description:
  • Demand Planning:
    • Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts.
    • Align demand planning with business goals and inventory needs.
    • Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstock.
  • Source and evaluate global suppliers based on credibility and trust.
  • Negotiate contracts, ensuring cost-effectiveness and reliability.
  • Ensure regulatory and quality compliance.
  • Monitor supplier performance and implement improvements.
  • Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination:
    • Maintain optimal stock levels, balancing procurement lead times and demand.
    • Streamline warehouse and logistics operations.
    • Implement and enhance procurement systems for efficiency.
    • Track procurement and demand planning performance using data analytics.
