Job summary

The Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections - Corrections Services is seeking a procurement-focused professional to support agency-wide purchasing, contracts, and grants management. The role involves ensuring compliance with state laws, coordinating property and fleet activities, and maintaining P-Card procedures across divisions.

Ideal candidates bring substantial experience in procurement or related financial fields, with a track record of policy adherence and cross-department

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in procurement, contracts or grants management, financial management, accounting, or auditing; OR
• Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus two years of experience in procurement, contracts or grants management, financial management, accounting, or auditing; OR
• A bachelor’s degree plus two years of experience in procurement, contracts or grants management, financial management, accounting, or auditing; OR
• An advanced degree plus one year of experience in procurement, contracts or grants management, financial management, accounting, or auditing.

Responsibilities

• Procurement Oversight: Reviews purchasing requests and solicitations, helps staff understand requirements, and ensures all purchases follow state laws.
• Property & Fleet Coordination: Oversees property notifications, surplus transfers, vehicle trades, LPAA interactions, and fleet documentation.
• P-Card & Operational Support: Monitors P-Card activity for compliance, assists staff with STL limits and rules, prevents split purchases, and supports operations by troubleshooting issues and improving processes.
