Job summary

Thatcher Chemical (Salt Lake City, UT) is seeking a Procurement Analyst I to support supply chain operations through purchasing analysis, supplier research, cost evaluation, and process improvement. You will analyze purchasing data, monitor material costs, and support supplier relationships to ensure timely, cost-effective procurement of materials and services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in related field.
• 1–3 years experience in purchasing, procurement, or data analysis preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing, chemical distribution, or industrial supply chain operations preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
• Experience with Microsoft Word and ERP systems.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills including percentages, ratios, and cost comparisons.
• Ability to analyze large data sets, identify trends, and make recommendations.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision and collaborate across departments.

Responsibilities

• Analyze purchasing data, material costs, supplier pricing, and trends to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Research and evaluate potential suppliers for raw materials, chemicals, packaging, and other materials.
• Obtain and compare supplier quotations, pricing, lead times, and terms.
• Support purchasing activities including raw material procurement and third-party orders for direct shipment to customers.
• Maintain procurement records and costs in the ERP system.
• Prepare and distribute pricing updates and cost change notifications.
• Monitor supplier performance including pricing, delivery, lead times, and quality.
• Identify alternative suppliers and sourcing opportunities to improve availability and reduce risk.
• Prepare purchasing reports, spend analyses, and other procurement-related reports.
• Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Shipping, Marketing, and Warehouse teams to resolve issues.
• Support procurement projects, supplier evaluations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
