• Collect data readings, perform product sampling, and write work orders.
• Ensure safe, efficient, and environmentally sound operation of units.
• Investigate problems, take corrective actions, and issue safety permits as needed.

Purpose of Job

To provide support to maintenance managers and engineers by applying (expert) technicial skills and making suggestions and independently implementing solutions to optimise systems.

Key Accountabilities

• Carries out Operations Department unit duties as outlined in assigned area of responsibility
• Responsible for executing the daily unit operations including unit start-up, unit shutdown, process adjustment, equipment prep for maintenance, unit sampling and analyses calculation, operations functions during plant turnarounds and operator performed maintenance tasks
• Maintains proper levels, temperatures, pressures, and flows
• Monitors and makes proper adjustments to the operating units control board instrumentation to maintain the unit within the prescribed control limits
• Obtains and records data readings
• Performs various cleaning and supply functions on various pieces of equipment.
• Collects product sampling
• Communicates operating and environmental problems as appropriate
• Writes work orders
• Prepares equipment for maintenance repair
• Responsible for the overall safe, efficient, and environmentally sound operation of their respective units. Makes changes in operations parameters based on knowledge, experience, instructions, sample results, etc., may pump or transfer, gauge and sample
• Investigates operating problems and takes appropriate action
• Writes maintenance notifications and safety permits as required

Formal Education/Working Experience

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent with at least 3 years of experience applicable to Operations or
• Technical, industrial, craft degree or other training applicable to Operations

Required Personal/ Professional Skills

• Acceptable and clean work history - required
• Pass all pre-employment requirements
• Ability to safely perform essential job functions
• Requires physical abilities to climb stairs and ladders and moderate to heavy lifting
