Job summary

Hermiston, OR facility seeks a Line 1 Processing Technician to perform a variety of processing responsibilities on a rotating schedule, supporting Lamb Weston’s goals. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and a clear path to leadership within Lamb Weston.

The position requires L1 Processing, ADR, Fryer qualifications, and Lock-out/Tag-out readiness. Strong English communication and basic PC skills are essential, with preferred experience in food manufacturing.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to communicate, comprehend, and follow instructions in English (written and oral).
  • 1–2 years of experience in Food Manufacturing or related field preferred.
  • Lock-out/Tag-out qualified; training provided if needed.
  • Read, understand, and adhere to all plant rules and safety policies.

Responsibilities

  • Actively participates in Lamb Weston Safety and Good Manufacturing Practice programs.
  • Conducts process quality checks per procedure and by request of leadership.
  • Performs all Daily Management System standards per schedule (CILs, FSILs, CLs, Defect Handling).
  • Operates cohesively with Line 1 Process Technician team in the Line 1 area, including L1 Evenflows through the L1 Fryer.
  • Engages in scheduled AMD activities.

Job Description Summary

Line 1 Processing Technician role offers a diverse range of responsibilities to team members looking to immerse themselves in all areas of L1 processing. Operating each work week under a rotating schedule allows each team member to contribute in several aspects benefitting our CBN goals on a weekly basis. This safety focused, team oriented, and target driven position provides a solid career path for future leaders of Lamb Weston.

Job Responsibilities
  • Actively participates in Lamb Weston Safety and Good Manufacturing Practice programs.
  • Conducts process quality checks per procedure and by request of Production Lead, Team Leader Production, Team Leader Quality, Team Leader Area Production, and Line Structure Team.
  • Performs all Daily Management System standards per schedule to include CILs, FSILs, CLs, and Defect Handling.
  • Operates cohesively with additional Line 1 Process Technician team members in management of the Line 1 Process area; Including but not limited to all job functions from the L1 Evenflows through the L1 Fryer.
  • Engages is scheduled AMD activities.
Basic & Preferred Qualifications
  • Trained and qualified in L1 Processing, ADR, and Fryer positions.
  • Team member must be Lock-out/Tag-out qualified. If qualification is needed training will be provided.
  • Read, understand, and adhere to all plant rules and safety policies as specified in the Lamb Weston Employee Handbook.
  • Practice proper body mechanics and safe lifting techniques.
Education / Certifications
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
Skills And Experience
  • Must be able to communicate, comprehend, and follow instructions in English (both written and oral).
  • 1-2 years of experience in Food Manufacturing, or related field, preferred.
  • Functions well in team environment.
  • Demonstrates capable troubleshooting skills.
  • Capable of thinking critically.
  • Basic understanding/ Proficiency in PC skills; Windows, Word, and Excel.
Physical Environment/Demands
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently.
  • Exposed to a noisy environment that varies from hot to cold in temperature.
  • Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist and hand movements required for job actions and procedures.
  • Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment.
  • Ability to operate work related equipment.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
