State Steel Supply Co. in Sioux City, IA is seeking a Processing Specialist / Laser Table Operator for the second shift to set up and process laser-cutting work orders on a Laser Table Machine.

You will load and unload material with an overhead crane, perform basic maintenance, keep the work area clean, and follow safety rules. Shift is 3:30 PM to 1:30 AM, Monday–Thursday; pay is based on experience and you may lift up to 60 lbs.

Qualifications

• One to two years of laser table operation experience.
• Basic math skills.
• Basic literacy for reading instructions and using hand tools.
• Basic computer skills.

Day Shift Laser Operator

What is a Laser Operator?

The Laser Operator is responsible for setting up and processing work orders utilizing a Laser Table Machine. The operator must have attention to detail to ensure the material is cut according to the work order specifications. Operators are required to maintain and perform preventative maintenance as well as keeping their work area clean. Operator will also load and unload the material that is processed using an overhead crane.

What can you expect from the job?

• Day Shift, Monday to Friday working from 3:30 PM to 1:30 AM Monday to Thursday.
• Exposure to in climate temperatures and noise
• Long periods walking and standing – up to 8 hours a day
• Frequent lifting, pushing, or pulling of material up to 60 lbs.

What are the requirements?

• Valid driver’s license
• 18+ years old
• Basic math skills
• Basic literacy for reading instructions and using hand tools
• Basic computer skills
• One to two years of laser table operation experience
• Basic trouble shooting and minor repairs
• Must be able to read and utilize a tape measure for accurate measurements.
