Job summary

Norfolk Iron and Metal Co. in Emporia, Kansas is seeking a skilled CNC/laser operator. You will read blueprints and cut lists, review work orders fromSales, and perform routine cutting and troubleshooting on laser equipment while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Read blueprints, drawings and cut list.
• CNC experience required.

• Must be able to lift 20-50 lbs occasionally and 10-25 lbs frequently.

Responsibilities

• Ensure final product is finished and packaged to company and customer expectations.
• Perform duties safely and efficiently at all times.

The qualified candidate will possess the following:

• Read blueprints, drawings and cut list
• CNC experience
• Must communicate effectively to all departments and employees of the company
• Must show a positive attitude in position
• Computer skills with a knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Outlook programs
• The operator must have complete knowledge of the laser and be able to perform routine cutting and troubleshooting efficiently and effectively
• The operator reviews the work orders from the sales department to verify quantities, specifications, process capabilities, delivery schedule, packaging requirements and availability
• The operator must ensure that the final product is finished and packaged to company and customer expectations
• Perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner at all times
• Must be able to exert 20-50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or 10-25lbs. of force frequently, and/or 10-20lbs. constantly to move objects

Wage Progression:

• 7 th job: +$1.50 (Processing Specialist 3 Processing Specialist 4) & Qualified as a trainer
• All Processing Job Functions +$1.75 (Processing Specialist 4 Processing Specialist 5)
