Job summary

Steel and Pipe Supply in Kansas City is seeking a Processing Specialist for 2nd shift to turn steel stock into customer parts. On-site at the Kansas City Service Center, you will handle bending, cutting, cleaning, inspecting, and loading shipments while following safety policies.

Starting pay is $20.00 per hour with a $3.50 shift differential; company offers quarterly profit sharing, annual bonuses, 401k match up to 6%, and health insurance for you and family.

Qualifications

• 18+ years old.
• Basic math and literacy for reading instructions and using hand tools.
• Basic computer skills.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Receive material (steel) and turn it into parts by bending or cutting with lasers and/or saws.
• Clean, inspect, and load parts onto trucks for shipment.
• Follow all safety policies and safe work practices.

What is aProcessingSpecialist?

ProcessingSpecialistsreceivematerial(steel)andturn it intoparts that our customers order by bending or cutting it withlasers and/or saws before cleaning it, inspecting it,and loading iton trucksto be shipped to the customer. This position helps the company create a culture of safety by following all safety policies and safe work practices.

What can you expect from the job?

• 2nd shift – 3:00 p.m.– 11:30 p.m., Monday-Friday
• Exposure to the elements
• Dirtyworking conditions
• Regular exposure to moving mechanical or machinery parts
• Moderately stressfulandconstantly changingwork environment
• Lots ofwalking and standing–up to 8 hours a day
• Frequent lifting, pushing,or pullingof materialup to 51lbs.
