Job summary

Reiser is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Technician in Canton, MA to build, assemble, customize, and troubleshoot automated food packaging machinery in the Processing Machinery Test and Assembly shop. You’ll work with engineering, production, and senior technicians to ensure machines meet high standards and are ready for customer facilities worldwide.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in mechanical and electrical assembly, a strong problem-solving mindset, and comfort in a shop setting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in mechanical and electrical assembly, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair.
• Strong hands-on experience with industrial mechanical and electrical systems.
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and build documentation.
• Familiarity with common hand tools and basic MS Office applications.
• Comfort working in a physically active, shop-based environment.
• Food processing or packaging machinery experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build, assemble, and customize highly automated food processing machinery and related ancillary equipment.
• Interpret electrical and mechanical diagrams, blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to support assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and repair.
• Manage machine build and customization projects, coordinating parts and materials with internal teams from start to finish.
• Perform mechanical and electrical setup, troubleshooting, service, and repair of packaging equipment.
• Assemble and disassemble complex machinery involving mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
• Perform software uploads and configuration updates on HMIs, PLCs, and VFDs using laptop/USB, supporting platforms like Allen-Bradley, Control Techniques, Sigmatek.
• Work hands-on with pneumatics, electrical and mechanical controls, AC/DC motors, and high-voltage systems (240/480V).
• Train alongside senior technicians to learn materials, parts selection, and build processes.
• Apply a continuous improvement mindset to machine performance, safety, and build quality.
• Work primarily first shift hours with occasional weekend overtime.

About the Role

As part of our dynamic and growth-driven team, we're seeking an Electro-Mechanical Technician in our Processing Machinery Test and Assembly shop area based in Canton, MA to build, customize, assemble, and troubleshoot new automated food packaging machinery. This role is ideal for a mechanically and electrically skilled technician who enjoys working in a shop environment, taking ownership of projects, and seeing complex equipment come together from start to finish.

• Train alongside senior technicians to learn proper materials, parts selection, and machine build processes.
