Job summary

Lamb Weston Holdings, Inc. is seeking a Processing Operator Trainee in Boardman, Oregon. The role involves operating and adjusting processing equipment, monitoring lineflow and waste, and correcting issues affecting quality and costs.

You will work under the supervision of the production lead or team leader and participate in safety programs. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, ability to read and write in English, and basic math and problem-solving skills.

Job Description Summary

The processing operator operates and adjusts all process equipment for smooth and productive operations; monitors lineflow and waste; corrects problems which affect quality and production costs; and makes line changes as directed by the production lead or team leader.

Job Description

Include the following. (Other duties may be assigned): Maintains safe work practices at all times and participates in safety programs. Changes water knives as needed. Performs waste evaluations and changes grader screens as needed. Operates equipment and makes adjustments as needed. Maintains even lineflow. Monitors and maintains product quality and attributes. Communicates with other personnel: line status, quality, and other problems. Must understand function and hazards of various cleaning chemicals, and must be able to perform various product testing procedures. Must be able to work independently. Shoveling product spills. Completes production forms as required. Enters checks into computer. OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS: Sanitation of area. Breaking of other areas. Performs weekend cleanup as assigned. Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of plant operations and experience working around equipment is preferred.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English. Ability to write accurate information on simple forms in English. Ability to effectively present or listen to information in one‑on‑one and small group situations with all other employees of the organization in English.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

Other Skills and Abilities

Tools and equipment used are as follows: high pressure hoses, shovels, squeegee, hammer, and hazardous chemicals.

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Constantly working on wet, slippery floors. At times, the temperature will rise to 100 degrees or over, high humidity, and lots of equipment vibration and noise.

Not to exceed 60 shifts worked.

In compliance with applicable state and local laws, Lamb Weston has opted to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role. This compensation is specific to this position and takes into account a number of variables. Actual compensation may be higher or lower in the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to a candidate's work location, job duties, experience and expertise. A reasonable hourly estimate for this role is listed below. Pay Rate or Range: $26.35
