A leading food manufacturing company is seeking a Processing Operator to operate and maintain fryer and blending equipment. Job description

Basic Purpose

Operates, troubleshoots, and maintains fryer, seasoning, and raw pellet blending equipment, ensuring that preset standards for product safety & quality and machine productivity are attained on a continuous basis.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • The Processing Operator (PO) works under the direction of the production supervisor and consults the production schedule to determine the item scheduled to run.
  • The PO selects the correct formula of processing parameters and sets the machine controls as necessary.
  • PO will make the necessary installations, adjustments, and fine‑tune the equipment to comply with the current specifications for pellet quality.
  • The PO continuously monitors the equipment in the process area and adjusts as necessary, as determined by supervision, quality control, and management.
  • The PO must be able to make independent judgments relative to machine function, use common tools as needed, and communicate effectively with Quality and maintenance personnel.
  • Must follow all GMP requirements as they pertain to safety, quality, and food safety.
  • Ensure assigned documentation is completed accurately and timely.
  • The PO must understand HACCP and Food Safety principles and verify compliance to all critical control points and preventive quality checkpoints to ensure a safe quality product is produced consistently.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Equipment and area cleaning as needed. Maintains appropriate levels of mixed raw materials.
Qualifications
  • Must have the manual dexterity to manipulate machine parts and controls.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors.
  • Ability to read and speak basic English.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds to shoulder height on an intermittent basis.
  • Must be able to understand and proactively endorse GMP product protection regulations.
  • Must be able to work in a safe manner.
  • Must obtain Forklift Certification within the first two (2) weeks of employment. (Candidates with prior certification are strongly preferred.)

Compensation and Benefits
  • New starting wage is $20.50 / hour (commensurate with experience and location). Note that rate could change based on a shift schedule.
