Job summary

Phelps Pet Products is seeking a Processing Mixer to support production throughput while ensuring product quality and compliance with GMP guidelines. You will follow batch recipes, record lot numbers, and maintain clean, safe work areas during shifts.

The role requires attention to detail, 18+ years of age, and the ability to read and interpret procedures. Training will cover safety, documentation, and batch processing standards.

Qualifications

  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience or training.
  • Language: ability to read and interpret rules and procedures; write routine reports.
  • Math: basic arithmetic including rates, ratios and percentages.
  • Reasoning: apply common sense to carry out instructions.
  • Computer skills: not required.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with departing shift to determine product and equipment status.
  • Visually inspect area for safety issues and report immediately.
  • Follow batch processing records and record lot numbers.
  • Read notes and instructions with batch sheet.
  • Mix ingredients following batch recipe and times.
  • Discard non-conforming product and notify Quality Control.
  • Follow safety and GMP policies.
  • Ensure paperwork is accurately completed.
  • Clean equipment and surrounding area during shifts.

Job description

Position Summary

Processing Mixer are responsible for meeting set production throughput goals. Insuring all product quality checks and recipes are followed and documentation is correct. Follow all safety procedures and GMP guidelines. Assist in general housekeeping duties.

Essential Functions And Related Responsibilities
  • Communicate with the departing shift to determine product being run, how the equipment is performing, and any necessary information.
  • Visually inspect area for any safety issues or conditions and report to supervisor immediately.
  • Communicate with Processing Lead person for Mixing schedule and batch sheet information.
  • Follow batch processing record and record lot numbers.
  • Read all notes and special instructions accompanying batch recipe sheet.
  • Mix ingredients following batch recipe and stated mix times.
  • Any non-conforming product found to be contaminated must be recorded and discarded immediately. Quality Control must be notified.
  • Practice all safety and GMP policies.
  • Insure all paperwork is accurately filled and completed.
  • Clean equipment, and surrounding area in between products and before shift change.

  • Must be detailed oriented

  • Computer Skills: No computer skills necessary.
