Job description

Overview

Processing Lead at Alliance One. Oversee operation of tobacco processing equipment, supervise and train hourly staff in various departments within our unionized leaf processing facility.

Responsibilities

• Operation of processing equipment in assigned department.


• Train and supervise hourly and seasonal employees in proper work procedures, and document training performed.


• Maintain accurate payroll and attendance records on hourly and seasonal employees, and submit weekly report of hours worked by all direct reports to Payroll to meet specified deadlines.


• Ensure compliance with all plant rules and regulations, including safety and current bargaining union agreement.


• Conduct preliminary counseling with hourly and seasonal employees and disciplinary action when necessary, following discussion with Supervisor; document and communicate action taken to the Supervisor and to the Plant Human Resources Manager.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School diploma, with some college or technical school preferred.


• 2-3 years experience in production/manufacturing industry.


• 2-3 years supervisory experience preferred.


• Must be able to assume a flexible work schedule, to include overtime and weekends as necessary.


• Proficiency with MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) desired.
