Job summary

Turning Point Brands, Inc. is seeking a Processing Associate to produce finished tobacco for packaging in tubs and pucks.

The role involves mixing raw tobacco, applying flavorings, and cutting to specifications in a 40-hour week (6:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday–Thursday) in a manufacturing setting. You will follow safety procedures, perform quality checks, operate machinery and a forklift, complete production records, and support GMP compliance; ladders may be involved, and physical tasks include

Qualifications

• Ability to move/lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
• Hold shift hours (8-12 hours depending on shift) standing, walking, lifting, pulling and pushing.
• May require climbing ladders.
• Solid reading skills, basic math skills, and reasoning skills.
• Knowledge of FDA regulations and ISO9001 quality requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operate machinery to produce quality products and perform necessary quality checks.
• Ensure Safety Procedures and manufacturing processes are followed.
• Complete daily production records accurately and file them properly.
• Operate forklift.
• Clean equipment daily in accordance with GMPs.

About the job

The Processing Associate is responsible for the production of finished tobacco that will be packaged in tubs and pucks. The process involves converting raw tobacco inputs by mixing and applying the appropriate flavorings and cutting the tobacco to the required specifications. The normal shift is 40 hours per week in a manufacturing environment, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday - Thursday. This position may be assigned special projects, as determined by the Manager Processing.

Essential Functions

• Ensure Safety Procedures and manufacturing processes are followed (Personal protective equipment, production machinery has the proper safety guards in place and properly secured, lockout/tag out, etc.)
• Ensure all daily production records are completed accurately and properly filed
• Operate machinery to produce quality products and perform necessary quality checks
• Operate forklift
• Clean equipment daily in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)

Minimum Qualifications

• Ability to move/lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
• Ability to spend the required shift hours (8-12 depending on shift) standing, walking, lifting, pulling and pushing
• May require climbing of ladders
• Solid reading skills, basic math skills, and reasoning skills
• Responsible for being knowledgeable of and action in strict accordance with the requirements of all relevant laws, regulations, and Company policies, including among other areas, Food and Drug Administration regulations
• General awareness knowledge of the ISO9001 Quality Management System requirements, company Quality Policy and your contributions to the effectiveness of the QMS
